一名疑似埃博拉病毒感染者正在以色列拉姆巴姆医疗中心接受隔离治疗并进行进一步检测，以确认是否感染该病毒。卫生部于周六表示，相关检测结果预计在48小时内，即周一早晨公布。卫生部解释称，此举是出于“临床原因”和遵循部门医疗规程的需要。
卫生部此前于周五发布消息称，该名患者于周二从刚果民主共和国返回，回国后出现发烧和头痛症状，随后主动就医。
卫生部再次强调，目前以色列境内并无确诊的埃博拉病例，公众无需采取任何特别行动，除非接到卫生部的直接通知。
本次埃博拉疫情最早于今年五月在刚果民主共和国和乌干达被确认，其病原体为Bundibugyo病毒株。该病毒株目前尚无疫苗也无治愈方法。
